Synergy Health can coordinate care on your behalf with any appropriate consultant.

If you are like most, though, you don't want to drive one or two hours for specialty services if you don't have to.

There are several full time specialty clinics locally including gastroenterology, urology, orthopedics, and cardiology.

There are other specialists that are more scarce, available through weekly clinics locally or through telemedicine. We are actively working to bring more support services to our community.

  • Neurology - Dr. Andrei I. Serbanescu

    Dr. Serbanescu works primarily out of his Atlanta office with Peachtree Neurological Clinic, but serves our region from the Synergy Health office in Hiawassee.

    Dr. Serbanescu received his medical degree from the Carol Davila Medical University School of Medicine in Bucharest, Romania. He completed his internship and residency in neurology at Emory University. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He has extensive training in neurosurgery, neurology and internal medicine. Dr. Serbanescu joined Peachtree Neurological Clinic in 2003 and is on staff Crawford Long Hospital, Piedmont Hospital, and Chatuge Regional Hospital. He also sees patients at the MS Center of Georgia. He is a member of numerous professional societies, including the American Academy of Neurology, the Georgia Neurological Society, the American Headache Society and the International Headache Society.

  • Telemedicine

    There are more than 200 specialty consultants available through the Georgia Partnership for Telehealth.

    Synergy Health is a presenting site for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Other consultations are conducted at Chatuge Regional Hospital.

    These services are covered by all insurance plans, similar to a regular visit.
