A Teaching Center

Synergy Health is a teaching site for pre-medical students, medical assisting students, PA and Nurse Practitioner students, and medical students.

The staff and providers embrace a culture of teaching and learning.

Dr. Church is on faculty at the Mercer School of Medicine and Georgia Regents (Medical College of GA). We also occasionally have physician assistant and medical assistant students. Medical students at various phases of their training frequently may come here as part of their core requirements. Having students helps keep us on our toes and up to date. While most patients enjoy seeing a student on occasion, you certainly are not obligated to see a student. Regardless, having a student does not take away from you visit with the healthcare provider.

• Information For Students

  We will serve a training site for high school, pre-medical, pre-health professional, and MA students after interview and staff approval.

  Synergy Health is a family medicine clerkship site for 3rd year medical students and PA students, who consistently perform well on subsequent standarized testing.

  Family Medicine Resident rural rotations are available, depending on scheduling.

  Housing is also available for health care professional students working with other nearby preceptors. Contact the AHEC office for more information. 770.219.8130.
